The project aims to encourage the students from two different European countries(Romania and Croatia) to think about Christmas from various perspectives (society, religion, family, specific national traditions, etc.).
We will try to focus on Christmas Holiday and its meanings , encouraging students to promote real values as friendship, cooperation, team work, critical thinking and creativity in the online environment.
Following the participating schools will:
1. Create interactive maps displaying how Europeans think, feel and do about Christmas and to compare these information/values across countries, time, and between different groups in society.
2. The students from Romania and Croatia share favourite Christmas song/present/meal and prepare a small scale online dictionary.
3. Create a short 90 seconds video, presenting in an entertaining way the way students prepare for or what Christmas actually is about in their countries.
4. Organize an online event after December 15, to present those videos so the students should try to convince the audience,how and why we should/ or also shouldn’t celebrate it that way. Evaluation by Google forms.
5. Create online wishing cards for the partners and friends and share them in a virtual celebrating meeting(December 15)
6. Encourage students to conduct research as a source of knowledge.
Work process
-first, students introduce themselves and make a presentation about the school(Padlet, Jamboard, and online meeting)
- students of the schools involved research the values and practices related to Christmas in Europe;
- these searches are shared and they do the interactive map-November 2021
Making the videos and the presentation/celebrating Christmas together, sharing the good practices and experiences and also the Christmas cards - December 2021
Students prepare and create a small scale online dictionary about the specific traditions in Romania and Croatia, starting with their own families, including fun facts about preparing/celebrating this Holiday -January 2022
Information will be shared in moments decided by teachers.
